My family and I were set to leave - Mon 10/24 - basically told it was going to be a slight tropical storm... it wasn't. We were Blessed to be at the Iberostar Tucan. The MOST generous awesome employees/ hosts of the worst hurricane in history. They took such great care of all of us - including all the refugees from shelters - and then Pres. Fox. The Apple Tours people - did NOT.. they were not helpful in getting us out at all - A FunJet rep actually got us on a van and to the airport - 2 days later - we are home.
all in all - we are safe and feel totally blessed that were with the Iberostar Tucan.
Thank YOu

Hi Cheryl,
I am sorry that you had some difficulty getting home, but very happy that you are safe.
It is nice to hear first hand from somebody who has recently returned from the area.
The Iberostar Tucan is reporting that it will be fully operational in just a few days. From what you saw, did the hotel appear ready to be fully operational soon?
Everybody always wants to know...how was the beach looking when you left?
Thank you for taking the time to stop by and post your experience
