PLAYA DEL CARMEN
FEBRUARY 20-FEBRUARY 28
February 25
We spent another fabulous sun-filled day having Piña Coladas and soaking up the rays and playing in the blue water with Shar's family at Xaman Ha. It was heaven.
That evening Shar and I headed over to El Serape, an authentic Mexican Restaurant on Juarez Avenue right before the grocery store, for dinner. We ordered some Empanadas that looked too good, but the waiter came back and said the girl didn't want to make any more. That was a bummer. Shari and I each ordered steaks that came with Chicken Mole, tortillas, rice, beans and fresh guacamole and it was very excellent. The dinner cost 66 pesos each.
After dinner we headed back up 5th and Siesta Fiesta was jammin' so we grabbed a couple of Piña Breezers and sat on the new street benches across the street and listened to music. I was feeling sick that night, as I have some stomach problems that I get on a regular basis and this was one of those nights. Add the fact that I also consume more drinks and get more sun during my one week in Playa than I do for the other 51 weeks of the year combined.
Shari had some shopping she tried to do and I finally had to just go lay down in the room and listen to the music from there. We each called it an early night and got some decent rest.
