If you must stay in an all-inclusive resort, Playacar is at least close to Playa del Carmen. That way you can go into town often to experience all Playa has to offer.

Riviera Maya Resort Locations and Maps

• If you'd like to be close to Playa del Carmen, there are a lot of nice Playacar condos for rent just past Señor Frogs and the ferry pier. Check the photo gallery to see photos of Playacar.
  
  
• Another option is the Gran Porto Real, a resort on the other side of Playa del Carmen, by the new pier and right in town.
  
  
• There are a lot of nice condos for rental located in Playacar Phase 1, which is located closest to downtown and 5th Avenue, just south of the ferry pier.
  
  
• The Playacar Resorts are a little bit further south in Playacar Phase 2, past the homes and condos located in Phase 1.
  
  
• The Riviera Maya stretches 80 miles along the coast from the area just south of Cancun to Tulum. Some travel agents may refer to a resort as being in Playa del Carmen, when it is actually in Akumal. It is important that you know the location of your resort before booking, if proximity to Playa del Carmen is important to you.
  
  
• Even if you don't stay in Playacar, it is a beautiful area to take a walk through and explore.
  
  

  Tip!
  
  There are some Mayan Ruins still standing just past the Xaman-Ha Condos which is a 5-minute walk from downtown Playa. To get there, just take the entrance behind Señor Frog's over by the Playa del Carmen-Cozumel ferry pier.
